Raflatac’s operations in the United States started in 1985 with the opening of a production plant in Fletcher, North Carolina. Today there are plants in Mills River, North Carolina, and in Dixon, Illinois. The Blandin paper mill is located in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. UPM is one
of the largest private land owners in Minnesota, with more than 187,000 acres

of mixed native hardwood forest in northern Minnesota. The forest land
is SFI certified (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) and there is a conservation easement, demonstrating the company’s commitment to high-quality sustainable management.
