TECHNOLOGY SECTOR IS THE BACKBONE OF THE FINNISH ECONOMY
Led by mechanical engineering, metals, and electronics industries, the technology sector is one of the largest sectors of the Finnish economy. Finland’s technology industries exhibit world-leading skills
and high productivity. The products, ranging from high-tech machinery to digital solutions, are always produced with high standards. Finnish technology companies are deeply integrated into global markets with their products accounting for 50% of Finland’s exports. The companies are responsible for 70% of all R&D spending by the private sector in Finland. Because of digitalization, the importance of the sector’s commitment to R&D&I will only increase in the coming years.
