• Certificate of customs clearance issued by the Tax Administration (Car Tax Decision)
• Prior notification certificate or Registration inspection certificate (technical part and notification part). The vehicle inspection of motor vehicles purchased from an import business is covered by the import business.
• Power of attorney (if the registration documents are signed by a person other than the owner of the vehicle)
The name of the owner mentioned in the car tax decision must be identical to the name of the applicant for the registration. The vehicle number (VIN) must be completed correctly. The prior notification certificate/registration inspection certificate must include the following information:
1. Name of the owner (family name, given name(s) or the name of the mission)
2. Date of birth of the owner
3. Address of the owner
4. Name of the insurance company and the starting date of the insurance policy
5. Signature of the owner (or of the person signing on behalf of the mission)
In case the mission/applicant wishes to obtain a certain registration number, this should be mentioned in the note.
The Protocol Services will issue a recommendation for the registration of the vehicle which should be submitted to the Finnish Transport Safety Agency together with the Application for diplomatic registration (Annex 7) and the above mentioned documents: Finnish Transport Safety Agency, Diplomatic Registration, P.O. Box 320, FI-00101 Helsinki. The contact information number of Trafi is +358 295 345 000.
The Finnish Transport Safety Agency registers the vehicle and delivers the registration plates and the registration certificate to the applicant´s postal address if the applicant has not given another delivery address for the delivery. Trafi has issued instructions for diplomat registration of vehicles (Annex 8).
